This year was a great opportunity to reach out to our community to help inform the ALA’s future direction given we are approaching 10 years of operation and have recently secured National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Funding (NCRIS) funding through to 2023.
The consultation process commenced in June 2019 and consisted of semi-structured interviews with over 90 people from across 35 organisations. Stakeholders represented data contributors, ALA users, and those with an institutional interest in the operation of the ALA, from across the wide range of ALA’s user domains, including: Research, Government, Industry and Community.
The consultation is now complete and the results have been captured in the final Atlas of Living Australia Future Directions National Consultation Findings Report authored by Dr Joanne Daly with support from the ALA management team.
We are very grateful to our stakeholders who willingly and enthusiastically shared their experiences working with, and using the ALA. Their insights provide a sound foundation to develop a renewed ALA strategy in 2020.
